Game Room 2.0 Farewell

A new game room is on the horizon!  We are moving to a new house soon and I'm hoping I'll have a much improved Room of Doom in the future.  Before I started deconstruction of the current setup I managed to get a few pictures.
It has been a work-in-progress for about 3 years.  The biggest selling point of this house for us was that it had a very large secondary living space that included a wet bar and full-size refrigerator.  The old room, which was meant to be a dining room, was roughly 13x13' and overflowing even before I really got into collecting.  It held my desk, CRT setup, and one chair.  The rest of the room was as full as it could be with shelving and storage.  The goal when looking for a new house was to find a room large enough to also include the more modern systems as well as my MAME cabinet.
Collage of the Game Wall

The famous (infamous?) Game Wall.  On the left I have my small Amiibo collection on display.  I'm unsure if I'll keep them boxed for much longer.  Then we have the three large media shelves.  These hold the majority of the gaming collection.  I'm at the point where I'm considering buying a fourth, but the bottom of the 3rd unit has 4 rows of PC games, and that could change in the future.  I'd like to have a specific area for Nintendo, other consoles, and PC gaming eventually.

The Arcade is a work in progress found here.  I need to make a front bezel and fix the paint in multiple spots.  Otherwise it is fairly finished I would say.  It will be making the journey into the new game room as well.  Oh, and I also need to upgrade the computer inside - it struggles with the Capcom 2d fighters and those games are what I play the most.

To the right is an old book shelf that held my big box PC games.  After those were moved this became a catch-all spot all the stuff and things.  Not sure if this will go in the new game room since its ugly.  *Sad faces*

The PC gaming setup!  This is honestly where I spend most of my gaming hours.  I was going to find some kind of print to go in that empty spot on the wall, but once we decided we were moving I decided not to bother.  I still hate that blank wall space  The upper shelves with the big box PC games were a welcome addition and I loved the way that turned out.

Love the Xenoblade Chronicles X artwork.  The CRT is a 36" Sony and is very very heavy.  NES is connected through composite cables.  SNES, N64, Dreamcast and Saturn are S-Video where possible (no mods).  The TV also has a component input so I have my Wii, Xbox, and PS2 connected to it through a switch box.  Having the Wii and PS2 running this way allows me to run Gamecube and PS1 games on component as well.

Posters are Club Nintendo Rewards.  Smaller prints from a retail promotion binder.

Pantry closets do well as controller storage thingies.

Below are all my boxed Nintendo consoles in chronological order.  I'm still surprised that little kid me didn't tear up the NES and SNES boxes too bad.

I'm sad to be leaving this one because I consider it to be my first "real" game room.  I've put a ton of work into this room but as we started thinking about buying a new house, motivation dropped, and some projects were left unfinished.

Thanks for looking and happy gaming!
